Domestic Queen or Araw ng Kananayan

Araw ng mga ina
sa ikalawang Linggo ng Mayo
naalala ko pa
gumagawa kami ng cards
sa eskwela
ibibigay sa inang mahal
sa araw ng mga nanay.

Ano kayang ginagawa
ng aking mga kaibigan
Sa araw na ito
na dapat wala silang
pagkakaabalahan
ang mga bata
ang maghahanda ng kanilang
almusal
may cake pang ginawa
ang mga mahal na anak
pakiwari ng ina siya
ang reynang ganap
sa maliliit na regalo
bulaklak, drawing kaya o perlas?

Sabi ng kabiyak ng puso
ngayon araw na ito
di kailangan niyang magluto
para sa pamilya
sa labas ang kain nila
pero si ina
di mapalagay
ilang araw pa lamang
handa na ang
cake, ginawa niya
o pinaorder sa kaibigan
o binile ng Sabado ng hapon
putaheng espesyal
buwan ng mayo
tiyak na asparagus
at patatas
sa butter kasama ng hamon
hindi baleng
tumaas ang alta presyon
minsan lang naman sa
isang taon
ang katwiran ng ina
pero sa tutuo lang
lingo lingo
karne na may salsa
ang pagkain ng pamilya
saan ba napunta
ito aking estoria
sa Araw ng mga Nanay

Araw ng mga Ina
araw nga ba ng pahinga?

Well, last night, Mom's Night, my boys went to the palengke, made iaw-ihaw. One bought ice cream, a son's gf, cake. I also got chocolate and roses. Tonight, I will have lunch with the girls.

I made pahinga .. relatively.

why did I not produce loving kids? I am preaching for rent a baby today...
enjoy the day, you're lucky with thoughtful kids...they're life's greatest treasure, I should say.

I am not a biological mom, but I think I have enough imaginary motherly instincts for others. Is there a day for imaginary mother?

Enjoy the week...post election usuals...

I love your Araw ng Kananayan post/poem. My youngest daughter (4yo) was still greeting me last night, LOL. I think one does not have to be a biological mother to be motherly or have motherly instincts. There are a lot of those who produced children but never fit the motherhood role.

Thanks Julie,

Good mothers deserve Mother's Day treatment each day of the year.
Some of my friends are teasing me I have enough motherly wisdom because I have no kids.
Enjoy the day!

Hi! I came here from Annamanila's site. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem. This year, Mother's Day is more special because my 3-yr old son has finally said the words Happy Mother's Day very clearly. He is a bit of a late talker and he still had difficulty saying it last year. When I heard him greet me last Sunday, it really touched my heart.

I am happy to know you like/found that poem. Thanks also Annamanila for linking.
Now, be prepared your little boy will start courting you with the most loving words for his mom.
Enjoy it!

Hallo sexy mom,
Ay hala, mukhang napasubo
ang hilaw na lakandiwa
baka mapahiya
hindi na makatula.

Thanks for your visit and hope will keep connected.
Warm regards,
